Last Bastion
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
You play as the defenders, and I'll play as the Necromancer.
The defenders are the protagonists of our story. They can't die. But they might fail.
About
Do you love tales of heroic last stands, and courageous defenders holding out against impossible odds? I do, too. Last Bastion draws inspiration from stories that pit the few against the many.
When you were a kid, did you take over the dining room table or a patch on the floor, and turn it into a castle for a few hours? I did, too. Last Bastion is a love letter to how we used to learn, play, and enjoy games.
Have you been frustrated by "horde" armies in tabletop wargames, and the way perfectly good systems crumble under the weight of so many miniatures? I have, too. Last Bastion explores how one player can be given an enormous number of pieces without sacrificing playability.
Last Bastion started as a design exercise, an attempt to answer a question I felt the miniatures wargames I enjoy so much had yet to deal with successfully. It grew to be a remembrance of how I started playing strategy games. Come for the formal system, stay for the ambience, and I hope you enjoy.
